Once again our Christmas Shopping and Carol Specials provide a superb finale to the year.

Bath and Lincoln are renowned in their own right as shopping destinations but both cities also run Christmas Markets with an enormous array of stalls all festively decorated to make selecting and purchasing gifts a real pleasure.
Our trains are timed to give you plenty of time to browse... and get those all-important presents with a little time to spare!

The highlight of Steam Dreams? programme is the Christmas Carol Special season. Each Carol Special includes entry to a specially-arranged afternoon carol service in the respective cathedral or church. The seasonal atmosphere is perfected with complimentary mince pies and mulled wine for passengers, and festive decorations throughout the train.

"Years ago we had a holiday in North Yorkshire and went on the Pickering steam train but I had forgotten what good fun it was. There was a delay as we had to stop on a gradient to wait for an 'up train' to pass..then we could not get going again! But if anything this added to the whole experience. We had more time to chat.
