New for 2008 this itinerary takes us via the scenic Wiltshire countryside before we head out through the magnificent Cotswold scenery to arrive at Cheltenham, a new destination on the Cathedrals Express calendar, and famous for its superb shopping. From here we head on to Worcester famous for its classic porcelain but also its classic architecture overlooking the River Severn.
We depart London Victoria around 0915hrs and steam out through Clapham Junction (0925hrs), Staines (1000hrs), Ascot (1030hrs) and Reading (1100hrs). We head via the Great Western Main Line to Swindon where we diverge and head across country via Kemble and Stroud to arrive into Cheltenham around 1300hrs and Worcester around 1330hrs.
Our return departs from Worcester at approximately 1730hrs, picking up those who have visited Cheltenham at 1800hrs. Travelling via the same route as outward we arrive at Reading to set passengers down at 2000hrs, Ascot (2030hrs), Staines (2100hrs), Clapham Junction (2130hrs) and London Victoria (2145hrs).
